Advice on how to avoid getting caught by a scam
Scams, unfortunately are becoming more common place. 4ways will never cold call you to solicit business. We work only with existing clients or directly referred clients. We strongly suggest that if you are contacted in this way always assume this is a scam.
Typical scam tactics include:
- Promise of high returns
- Accessing your pension before age 55
- Pressure to act quickly
- Unexpected contact
You should never provide any information or personal details over the phone. Also, never send sensitive information by open e-mail. Always use a secure means like for example your 4ways client portal.
Any questionable requests should be reported to the national crime agency and the police. Contact details are:
- www.data.police.uk (England, Wales and NI)
- www.mygov.scot/staying-safe-online/reporting-online-crime-to-the-police (Scotland)
Always speak to your contact within 4ways for help and guidance in these matters
Stay safe out there.
